What a conversation circle is

A small group meets each week with a volunteer leader. You talk about everyday topics such as shopping, the doctor or the weather. There is no test and you do not need to sign up for a full course.

Where to find one

  • Your public library. Many libraries run free groups in person and online.
  • Settlement agencies and community centres.
  • Some places of worship and community groups.

Get the most out of it

  • Go every week. Speaking a little often helps more than a lot once.
  • Bring one new word or phrase to use each time.
  • Do not worry about mistakes. Everyone in the room is learning.
