Free public school
Public elementary and secondary school is free for children of permanent residents. Children of some temporary residents may also attend for free; ask your school board.
How to enrol
- Find your school board by your home address.
- Bring your child's birth certificate or passport, immigration documents, proof of address and immunization records.
- Many boards assess English level and place students in English language support.
French or English
Most provinces have English and French school systems. Some offer French immersion programs.
